My impressions: Considering that this conference was the first one of its kind in Argentina, I have to say it was great. Small, but great. Not many people knew about the event, but the response was still pretty good. It was a 3-day event with plenty of technical discussions and sessions, and some other sessions came from companies who wanted to share experiences and impressions on what is coming for MySQL technologies.

The first MySQL/MariaDB/NoSQL Latin American event is on its way, and Pythian will have a MySQL guy there. Yes, Francisco Bordenave (Team 14 TTL) is going to be one of the speakers. I am presenting a conference about replication in MySQL, how to’s, and what’s new in newer versions. This is a very important event, and many of our friends will be there.

This post was thought of as an attempt to make some performance test with new multi-threaded replication in 5.6, at least that was my initial intention. Based on Luis Soarez – Replication Team Leader in Oracle – post. I wanted to play with new set of variables and features in order to understand how new multi-threaded replication works and make some performance tests.

WordPress is a really cool open source tool for easy web design and blogging. Unfortunately, it has limitations related to the use of MyISAM as a storage engine. But, there is good news, Word Press Supports InnoDB! Here are some approaches to set this up for your environment.

A customer contacted us regarding a problem with one of their replication servers. We found they had deleted some binary logs from the master and relay logs from the slave to release space. It is not a good idea to delete logs that aren’t cached by the slave, in case they are needed. At least keep relay logs in slave to keep the replication working.
