Pythian Speaking in the UK

If you’re like me and are a DBA in the UK with a penchant for MySQL or Oracle, you’ll know we have a smörgåsbord of conferences here next week. We’ve been waiting, and like buses two have come at once. We have the UK Oracle User Group Conference 2012, in Birmingham on 3rd – 5th December 2012, and the Percona Live London MySQL Conference running on 3rd – 4th December. YACR! (Yet Another Conference Review!)

I made the epic journey with my Pythian (and former Nokia) colleague Andrew Moore, and once at the conference we met up with more members of our Pythian MySQL team: Marco Tusa, Raj Thukral, and Singer Wang. We all ran into former colleagues at the conference, caught up with old friends, and made some new friends. The conference this year was buzzing with enthusiasm, learning, and creativity. I’m delighted to say it delivered everything I anticipated and more.

My Broken Planet MySQL feed..

Having recently joined Pythian’s MySQL team, in anticipation of my first blog post, I was eager to add my blog feed to Planet MySQL for aggregation. Unfortunately in my haste I pasted the link to my blog as opposed to the blog feed and as the link was erroneous, Planet MySQL recursed back up the url until it reached a valid feed. Unfortunately for me, that was the main Pythian Blog feed and as a result all Pythian blog content is now getting aggregated under my name.
