In an industry story we’ve been following for quite some time, BEA finally gave up on their multi-core pricing formula of charging a 25% premium for dual-core CPUs. Oracle is still holding out with their “every core is .75 CPUs and we’re rounding up” pricing model. Interestingly, The Register isn’t shy about coming right out and saying what most of us have been thinking for some time: “Oracle has become somewhat of a multicore pricing laughingstock”. read article at the register
