Day One at Oracle Open World 2012

Posted in: Technical Track

Yesterday night against the backdrop of San Fransisco’s magnificent Golden Gate Bridge, Oracle lived up to its name and honored the Oracle ACEs and ACE Directors from across the world. Lillian and her team did a wonderful job of bringing together almost all the great names in the Oracle World, and it was really nice for me to put so many faces to the names.

The OTN website is full of news and highlights from day one, such as Oracle’s new database and cloud offerings, Exadata X3, multi-tennant databases, and so much more. The arrangement at this OOW is awesome. Full marks to Oracle — the coordination and attention to detail is immaculate. So many sessions on an abundance of products provide you with overwhelming choices. Exhibitor halls are something to go through, as they have much to tell and offer.

Pythian held its Friends of Pythian party at the W hotel, directly opposite to Moscone North. Customers, passionate followers, friends, bloggers, and many experts from Oracle attended. People from all over the world were present, along with the Pythian team.

I am looking forward to the rest of the great medley of technology!

About the Author

I have been in love with Oracle blogging since 2007. This blogging, coupled with extensive participation in Oracle forums, plus Oracle related speaking engagements, various Oracle certifications, teaching, and working in the trenches with Oracle technologies has enabled me to receive the Oracle ACE award. I was the first ever Pakistani to get that award. From Oracle Open World SF to Foresight 20:20 Perth. I have been expressing my love for Exadata. For the last few years, I am loving the data at Pythian, and proudly writing their log buffer carnivals.
