Oracle Acquires Context Media

Oracle quietly acquired the Providence, Rhode Island based company Context Media back on July 15th. Oracle purchased Context Media’s technology and key personnel in order to integrate enterprise content management (ECM) with Oracle software.

Context Media is an Enterprise Content Integration (ECI) developer, creating software that can tie together incompatible ECM systems. Rich Buchheim, Oracle senior director of project management for content products and strategy, feels this kind of technology is key because many companies don’t have corporate-wide ECM systems.
