Sydney Found Secret of Becoming RockStar DBA

Posted in: Technical Track

An analogy packed, richly experienced session with a touch of technical sprinkling was delivered by Pythian’s premier leader Paul Vallee in 280 Pitt Street, Sydney yesterday to a small but engaging audience. The session was organized by Sydney Oracle Meetup and the host, the Pythian’s Oracle ACE Yury Velikanov smoothly carried it out. Session was followed by a refreshing visit to Marble bar, Hilton in Sydney CBD for networking.

The session’s title was itself very enticing:

How to become a RockStar DBA!?

Practice, Innovation, Learning, Positive Paranoia are few of the key factors which make a DBA rockstar. Paul Vallee, who is employing hundreds of top-notch DBAs from across the planet to service world’s busiest and critical databases nailed the concept down with a thud.

About the Author

I have been in love with Oracle blogging since 2007. This blogging, coupled with extensive participation in Oracle forums, plus Oracle related speaking engagements, various Oracle certifications, teaching, and working in the trenches with Oracle technologies has enabled me to receive the Oracle ACE award. I was the first ever Pakistani to get that award. From Oracle Open World SF to Foresight 20:20 Perth. I have been expressing my love for Exadata. For the last few years, I am loving the data at Pythian, and proudly writing their log buffer carnivals.
