Tuesday morning at OOW is always occupied by this forum, an opportunity for authors and other persons to receive heads up on what’s coming down the pipe from Oracle. The following notes are musings from yours truly as I attended the forum today.

The 2012 edition of RMOUG Training Days in Denver less than a month away, running February 15 and 16 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. . It’s not too late to register, and it’s a pretty nice excuse to get to the Rockies in ski season. I’ll be doing two presentations, and am polishing up whitepapers and presentations for the submission deadline tomorrow

With the announcement of the Oracle Big Data Appliance, Oracle also comes up with some really cool technology stack which is being termed as Oracle Big Data Connectors (OBDC). This piece of software can be used with both Oracle Big Data Appliance and other Apache Hadoop-based systems.

Liveblogging announcements from Sunday’s Oracle OpenWorld Keynote.

Stay tuned here for Pythian commentary on the Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, as soon as it has been announced! So on our way from the Exadata Partner Briefing session to Moscone West, we went down to the tunnels by the keynote halls, and we saw some new branding that we had not yet seen.

I started this post with the intention to write about what I expect Oracle to announce at this OpenWorld and it seems like the most important announcements happen at tonight’s keynote. I hasn’t been at the Oracle ACE Directors briefing so unlike them, all I can say is pure speculation-based and my wishes of what should be covered.
