This is a short blog post to let you know that there is a Oracle 11GR2 Clustering Webinar is coming this week. This session is going to be presented more in-depth at Oracle OpenWorld this year. Thank to all your votes at Oracle MIX. This webinar is kind of a bit of a pre-Oracle OpenWorld warm up :)

This post is addressed to all RAC SIG members who are planning to participate in the InSync11 conference this August in Sydney Australia! InSync11 is organized by Oracle Community for Oracle Community and is one of the biggest Oracle technology dedicated events in Australia and New Zealand region. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from others, listen to experts from around the world and meet face to face people from your networks (including RAC SIG).

I’ve been so amazed by the community response to my requests over the past few days that I just HAD to blog about it. In this post I’ll cover Oracle MIX and Suggest-a-Session voting, my very first experience and approach to the event, and special thanks to those who showed their support.

The Oracle OpenWorld 2010 conference is over and life is getting back to normal. However, this is a traditional time for the OOW after-parties and local meetings to discuss the results of the biggest annual event in Oracle space. Our Sydney Oracle Meetup is not an exception.

If it happens and you are in and around the Sydney area 1-2 weeks from now then you might be interested in taking part in these events.

The topic for this meetup is quite exciting – Oracle Exadata and everything about it. David Centellas, Senior Database Consultant from Oracle will do technical presentation on Exadata and, after the break, we will have a open forum discussion where two Oracle’s Enterprise Architects, Tim Rubin and Chris Jones, will answer our questions and share thir real-world experience.

We will start with an overview of the AQ technology in Oracle database – what it is and what it let you do. Then we will see how it’s used in Oracle E-Business Suite and how to manage it. Our speakers for the evening are your fellow SOM members – Jurijs Velikanovs and Warwick Sands. TBC.

This meetup will be focused on storage technologies for Oracle database. It looks like a short presentation on Oracle Automatic Storage Management is in order – quite a few people are missing the concepts of the Oracle flagman storage storage solution and it’s useful to understand the approach whether you use it now or not.

I think it was the smallest group so far which is not surprising considering that Monday has been the least popular day in our internal poll. We had a tad less than 20 people but very good size for the informal discussion of Oracle 11g adoption that took place at the second half of the meetup.
