Hello bloggers and blog readers. I’m a DBA here at The Pythian Group, and the primary administrator of this site. I do many other things too — work on Postgres, MySQL and Oracle, SQL Server, as well as general programming in perl, shell, and C.
That’s normal at Pythian. Although many of us have finely-honed skills in specific areas, we all understand the larger environment: the hardware, operating systems, and even the people we work with.
I hope to be submitting more blogs in the future, but I couldn’t do this without the ingenuity and dedication of my fellow contributors. We all like to see DBA’s and people with general interest getting involved in these online conversations so I encourage you to browse this site, ask questions, and state your opinions.
