A further look at Oracle’s attempt to outbid SAP for retail software specialist Retek. According to Phillips, Oracle has been looking at Retek since September as part of their “surround strategy” approach to surpassing SAP by picking up business applications.

Phillips admits to targeting SAP as their top enemy, to the point that Larry Ellison now refers to the company as “sap” because it’s diminutive. read article.
